CAT CARE PROGRAM.

Homeless Cats in Tbilisi

What We Do

It’s hard to say just how many thousands of cats are struggling to survive on the streets of Tbilisi, facing hunger, disease, extreme weather conditions, dog attacks... While a few dedicated individuals and organizations are already doing incredible work to help, the number of kittens born each year keeps the situation overwhelming.

That’s why we’re launching our new Cat Care Program: because we know it will make a real difference for every single cat we’re able to help.

As part of our new Cat Care Program, we aim not only to vaccinate and sterilize as many cats as possible, but also to keep them fed, treated against fleas and worms, and taken to the vet whenever needed. For now, we’ll be focusing our efforts in the Sololaki area.

Cat food disclaimer – As a vegan organization, we know that, ideally, companion animals should be fed plant-based food. Unfortunately, plant-based cat food is not currently available in Georgia.

How You Can Help

Food, parasite control, vaccination, sterilization, and vet care all come at a cost – so donations are more than welcome! You can make a donation to support our Cat Care Program by clicking here.

If you’d like to send us plant-based cat food from abroad, please get in touch!

And while we don’t facilitate international adoptions, we’d be thrilled to find foster or forever homes for our feline friends here in Georgia.

SHUT DOWN PETTING ZOOS.

Petting Zoos in Georgia

What We Do

Captivity is inherently unethical, but facilities like Zootopia (in Tbilisi and Batumi) and FaunaLand (in Mtatsminda Park) take animal suffering to another level with their appalling living conditions.

Tiny cages, forced interactions with children, and environments that fail to meet the basic needs of each species... The animals are visibly stressed and miserable, as shown by clear signs of psychological distress, such as pacing endlessly in circles.

Zootopia goes even further by confining animals inside shopping malls, robbing them not only of freedom and natural behaviors, but also of fresh air and daylight. Herbivores there never touch a blade of grass, while nocturnal animals are kept under glaring artificial lights all day long, and burrowing animals are offered no place to hide.

Our goal is to shut down all petting zoos ("contact zoos") in Georgia.

We’ve launched a petition addressed to Parliament, the Prime Minister, the Minister of Environmental Protection, and the Mayor of Tbilisi, calling for a ban on petting zoos and the relocation of the animals to sanctuaries where they can receive proper care. Since no such sanctuaries currently exist in Georgia, the animals should be transferred to sanctuaries abroad, and a local sanctuary must be established with State support.

We’re also holding weekly protests, currently focused on Zootopia in Tbilisi Mall. These actions are a powerful way to raise public awareness and encourage visitors to boycott the zoo and sign the petition. Just as importantly, they send a clear message to those profiting from animal exploitation: some of us care, and we won’t stay silent.

How You Can Help

Signing our petition is the easiest way to support our campaign.

You can also help by spreading the word: share the petition, our website, and our content on Facebook and Instagram to boost visibility and reach more people.

If you’re able, donations are very welcome. They help us cover the cost of printing advocacy materials like cards, flyers, and more.

And last but not least: if you're in Georgia, please consider joining our protests. Online activism matters, but nothing compares to the power of physically showing up where animals are being exploited. To be honest, only a couple of people came to our first Zootopia protest, and since then I’ve been standing there alone. I – and the animals – would truly appreciate your presence, especially if you speak Georgian and/or Russian!
