Alternatives to animal experiments A number of educational and medical research institutions continue using animals in painful and deadly experiments and dissections. This is both inhumane and inefficient. International Network of Humane Education (InterNICHE) produced a documentary film titled "Alternatives in Education: new approaches for a new millennium" and a book titled "From Guinea Pig to Computer Mouse". The purpose of the film and the book is to promote and introduce humane alternatives to animal experiments/dissection in educational and medical research institutions. ARC produced Georgian translation of the documentary, which, together with the book, will be donated to local educational and medical research institutions. In case of their interest, ARC, through InterNICHE, will help target institutions to switch to humane alternatives. As a result, animals used in experiments and dissections will be replaced with computer software, mannequins, photo and video materials, and other methods.
